Senior Brand Manager

Job Description

GOL is seeking a creative, organized and result-oriented Senior Brand Manager to support our business in Nigeria

Responsibilities

  • Take full leadership of a portfolio of brands, coordinating and influencing a cross-department team to ensure brands plan execution, reporting and tracking.

  • Develop segment 5yrs strategy and ensure sign off from the exec.

  • Identify and execute 5yrs segment pipeline, as per strategy signed off.

  • Lead communication and activation planning for the segment, identify the right consumer insights to drive appeal and cut through.

  • Take full P&L ownership including A&P management and optimisation.

  • Create and shape brand positioning and marketing strategy with consumer & shopper insights at the heart, including setting vision, objectives, strategies and KPIs to drive brand growth.

  • Lead key strategic cross-functional work streams.

  • Responsible for leading and aligning the innovation strategy & pipeline.

  • Responsible for achievement of financial and market share targets.

  • Responsible for media & communications strategy; delivering measurable 360-degree activations (ATL & BTL).

  • Lead direct reports, develop and support them on a day to day basis.

  • Clear ownership of ongoing brand performance, research and external market trends, and analyze data from various sources to build key brand, retail, shopper and consumer insights.

  • Consistently undertake Retail and Market visits to identify opportunities to strengthen brand development and positioning.

  • Stakeholder management skills able to influence peers, leadership, exec and corporate teams.

  • Proven track record in generating growth through creative thinking, NPD management and 4Ps excellence.

  • A strong drive for results, can do attitude and performance tracking.

  • Analytical skills and ability to build KPIs.

  • Passion for marketing, with a solid creative flair and a strong appreciation for insights and digital.

Personal Specification

  1. Key requirements include:

  • At least 7 years’ experience within Brand Marketing (FMCG preferred)

  • Self-motivated and able to work to own initiative and be hands on

  • High level of personal organization and attention to detail

  • Autonomy and ability to drive own agenda

  • A positive ‘can-do’ attitude with creative flair

  • Results driven with strong commercial awareness, including full budget management

  • Capable of problem solving in fast-paced environment

  • Good strategic thinker with desire to make an impact

  • Lots of passion for developing brands and ability to influence stakeholders with confidence

  • Team leader with ability to build strong relationships

  • Strong analytical skills (IRI/Nielsen/IWSR)

  • Strong experience in creative/production processes, design and implementation, research and development

  • A good understanding of advertising agencies and the ability to plan, measure and execute marketing campaigns and strategies

  • Strong understanding of product marketing and good experience in managing the marketing

    of a product and liaising within teams and external agencies ATL/BTL

  • Strong decision-making ability, both in tactical and strategic situations
