About TOTAL

TOTAL is a major energy player committed to supplying affordable energy to a growing population, addressing climate change and meeting new customer expectations.

Those commitments guide what we do. With presence in more than 130 countries, we are a top-tier international integrated energy company and a Major Player in Low-Carbon Energies. We discover, produce, transform, market and distribute energy in a variety of forms, to serve the end customer.

Demonstrating their commitment to better energy, our 100,000 employees help supply our customers worldwide with safer, cleaner, more efficient and more innovative products and services that are accessible to as many people as possible. Our ambition is to become THE responsible energy major.

Renewable Energies

The IEA’s Sustainable Development Scenario has renewable energies meeting close to 40% of the upswing in global primary energy demand by 2040. We are ramping up our renewable power — solar, wind, hydro — generation capacity to satisfy the surge in electric power needs responsibly.

Active in solar for 40 years, our expertise qualifies us to operate across the photovoltaic solar value chain, from manufacturing photovoltaic cells to supplying green electricity to our customers.

In line with our Committed to Better Energy ambition, Total downstream launched the first solar-powered service station in West Africa, the Total service station, Onigbagbo on June 12, 2014. The construction of this service station is part of efforts towards providing energy solutions that are efficient and environmentally friendly.

The company has been serving the Nigerian hydrocarbons industry for more than six decades, in partnership with the Nigerian Government and in different equity associations with other private companies.

Oil & Gas

With 14,000 employees worldwide committed to better energy, Exploration & Production branch conducts Total’s oil and natural gas exploration, development and production operations. We aim to do this safely, efficiently and innovatively in order to meet the need to supply affordable, reliable and clean energy. We are present in some 50 countries and produced 2.57 million barrels of oil equivalent per day in 2017, with new ventures and further development underway. We are able to push technological boundaries to undertake increasingly more complex projects in the most extreme environments, thanks mainly to an innovative R&D program.

With several partnerships around the globe and especially with the recent acquisition of Engie’s LNG business, Total leverages its size and flexibility in the fast growing and increasingly commoditized LNG market. This transaction makes Total the second largest global LNG player among the majors with a worldwide market share of 10% and the Group will manage an overall LNG portfolio of around 40 Mt per year by 2020.
