Safaricom

Safaricom

Formed at the turn of the decade as part of the liberalization of Kenya’s telecoms sector as a joint venture between global leader Vodafone Plc and the government of Kenya, Safaricom has firmly established its credentials as a regional leader, spawning a virtual telecoms revolution in Kenya. With a profit before tax of over Ksh15 billion and revenue totaling Ksh70 billion during its last financial year (2008/9), Safaricom is the region’s most profitable company. Their 2, 300 employees all contribute to make Safaricom exceptionally successful.

Safaricom, which has a subscriber base of over 15 million, offers all telecoms services under one roof: mobile and fixed voice and data services on a variety of platforms: Kenya’s widest 3G and Wimax networks and a growing fibre optic cable footprint. The firm runs a network of 30 retail shops located in Nairobi (8), Mombasa (5), Kisumu (2), and 15 other key towns all over the country.

Safaricom always seeks to attract, develop, reward and retain outstanding individuals who they are committed to offering challenging responsibilities and development opportunities. They are looking to recruit Kenyans working abroad with experience and exposure in the Telecomms industry.
